Royal Greenhouses

It's been a while since I made a blogpost about a meeting with the Belgian Community. But today that's going to change and this makes me really happy.
The Belgian Community is rather small and pretty much non existing both online and offline which makes me a bit sad. Because it would be so nice to have more regular meetings with people that share the same fashion intrest in your own country.

To make a change in this declining trend I organised a meeting to visit the Royal Greenhouses of Belgium. It was thanks to a fellow lolita member that pointed us into this direction and Im so glad she did. The greenhouses are open for public every year for two weeks so it was a short notice for the meeting.

Our group was rather small but big enough to enjoy the scenery of the greenhouses together without feeling overwhelmed by new faces or not being able to talk to all of them. I think it will bring the community a little bit closer over time if we have more meetings like this in the future.
It was nice to see that we could welcome two new faces to our group, one girl was from America but is studying in Belgium and the other girl was still waiting for her first coord to arrive but this didn't stop her from attending this meet.

  2. Everyone looked so lovely and it seems like you were quite lucky with the weather judging by the blue skies! It was cloudy grey and quite cold when I went there, we were breathing sighs of relief every time we actually went inside the greenhouses.
Hopefully you'll get to have more meets as a community! Was everyone attending from a different part of Belgium as well or were you all from relatively near each other? But I never realised that the Belgian community isn't really formalised, not even online. There must be so many lone Lolitas looking for an opportunity to join a meet and not knowing how to find one. Did you as a group consider creating a Facebook group or something like this?

    1. We where very lucky indeed cause a couple of days before the actual meet they said is was going to rain! Sorry to hear that you didn't have great weather when you where visiting the greenhouses. We have an online group on FB with about 130 members but only a handful is active and attends meetings. At this meet we came from all different parts of Belgium, but all from Flanders. The girls from the Flanders aren't really in contact with the French part of the community because of the language gab and travel distance. Most of us live pretty far from each other, all spread over the country.

  4. But it is nice to have meet like that.
I feel your problems, except mine is a little more extreme, to get be part of community, you have to know them to begin with. And I don't know them.

    1. That makes it a lot harder indeed, isn't there an online community for where you live? That way you can get in contact with people from your region or country. Hope you are able to meet up with some boys and girls too!

    2. They don't seem active on the internet, so it is hard to say, there is a Facebook group, but I guess I have to be Invited to.
